Dominic was new to the Lucid Manor, but he was not new to mental facilities. He was not fond of them either. They were all under the impression that he was a normal human who needed help, according to Dominic they were wrong, very wrong. He would agree that he was born a human being, but he was fully convinced he had been changed somehow into a powerful creature of night, even though there was evidence to the contrariety. Dominic was set in his delusion and he was not about to let himself be swayed, even if that meant fighting each member of the staff with his bare hands. In his mind he was a vampire. The delusional patient was seated in a chair against the wall, his thick arms crossed against his chest while his aquamarine depths watched those around him instead of the television playing nearby. All of them were possible victims he could attack and drain the precious blood from their bodies, though one in particular had captured his attention.
Recently, he had overheard some nurses discussing a patient they described as a 'darkly handsome' but dangerous man who had murdered a multitude of men. One thing in specific had stood out to the wanna-be vampire, it was that Alec's pulse had never rose as he described his crimes to the police. He knew that this man would be perfect as a dark companion. Dominic had plans of introducing himself to Alec, a rare thing for the man who had drawn himself away from all social situations, then attempt to form some kind of dialogue before he finally offered the dark gift he believed he could give to others. So here he was waiting for his fellow high-risk patient to appear so he could put his plans into effect.

  Alec watched out the barerd window, gaze seemingly fixated on the world outside. But it wasn’t the lush green grass he was watching, or even the clear blue sky. Violently graphical images of the crimes he’d committed toyed with his thoughts, fueling his aggression. Those people were dead, and the world was better for it. They’d destroyed Caroline, his Caroline. So he’d taken away their essence from this very Earth.
The sound of his room door opening and closing caused him to glance at who’d entered. It was a young girl, probably to older then him. She had a nametag on but he didn’t bother reading it, only focused on the fear in her eyes. So she knew whose room she’d entered, well good for her. The petite blonde bit her bottom lip nervously as the clipboard shook in her hands. Alec guessed she was new to the facility, a seasoned nurse wouldn’t show so much fear. For some reason, it made him angry that she thought he would attack her.
“Mr. Anderson, if you’ll follow me please I have to take you to the rec room. Your room is scheduled to be cleaned…”
Her voice trailed off, obviously worried about upsetting him. Alec shoved past her and entered the hallway. He’d been to the rec room before and knew the way without some idiot nurse tagging along behind him. Of course she tagged along anyway.
As soon as he entered the room, a multitude of faces glanced in his direction. One of the security officers situated on the other side of the room, a nurse having a quiet conversation with one of the other nurses, and several patients. Alec let out a low growl before walking across the room towards the window. The TV playing in the corner of the room was beginning to get on his nerves, gaze shifted to glare towards it, obvious aggression playing into his features.

Dominic smirked as he watched his target make his way through the room, his mood clearly an aggressive one. It was perhaps not the best time to approach him, but the crazed would-be vampire had made up his mind today was the day to meet him. Slowly he rose from his chair, his eyes giving the security guard a quick glance before walking towards Alec who appeared to be glaring at the television like it were annoying him. He could not blame him, he hated television, unless it was playing a scary movie he liked. “Hello,” he said in greeting towards the handsome yet angry young man who had intrigued him so much. He put on his best amiable expression like he thought this would perhaps reassure him that he was not there to harm him.. yet.
“You're quite famous around here... killing four men on your own. I'm impressed. Afraid I haven't took a life myself,” he admitted to Alec in a surprisingly soft voice which hardly matched the powerful body of the mental patient. No matter how silky soft his voice was Dominic still had a darkness about him which was downright eerie yet he was also a physically good-looking man with a heavy-set frame. “I'm Dominic Graves,” he introduced himself to his fellow high-risk patient, offering his pale hand to him to shake if he wished. He was uncertain if Alec would accept him as a friend, but he hoped that he did. Dominic would never admit it, but his mental illness was a lonely condition.

Nothing in the room could take his attention off of the T.V. It was unnecessarily loud and he was about 20 seconds from throwing it out one of these barred windows in pieces. The window he was standing next too was looking pretty good for the plan. Just as he was about to make a move towards it, initiating what was sure to be a huge mistake with the guard and doctors, someone spoke to him. Needless to say, that in itself wasn’t something he was used too. Alec turned to size up the man who’d spoken to him. Even though they were relatively the same height, the man had a few pounds on Alec. Not that it frightened Alec at all, he was pretty confident in his ability to defend his self if this patient started anything.
Then the guy did something Alec hadn’t expected. He recounted the “crimes” Alec had committed resulting in his institutionalization and even called him famous. That just met the nurses had big mouths. But the way the man spoke, something about it offset the situation. It was almost as if he was proud of Alec. Alec knew the four men had deserved to die for what they’d done to his finance, but this guy didn’t. To be proud of him rubbed Alec the wrong way, it was as if he was being praised for killing a seemingly innocent guy- well four of them to be exact. The man introduced himself, though Alec felt no need to respond with his own introduction, as the guy obviously already knew whom he was. Cold eyes fell on the hand that was extended to him, but Alec did not make any move to take it. Nor did he acknowledge the man for a full 3 minutes at least, content to just stare at him as if taking him in.
“Yeah? What’s it to you?”
One thing this guy was going to have to learn, and learn fast. Alec didn’t make friends. He didn’t enjoy taking lives from people. If his anger got the best of him, as it often did, he was dangerous and out of control. These were just parts of him that were rooted deep within his psyche. Compliments on the darker sides of his personality were not going to amuse him.

Dominic drew his hand back seeing that it was not going to be accepted by the angry young man. Most probably would have took offense or decided that they had enough and went on their merry way, but not Dominic. He stood there intrigued, even though Alec was staring at him with such a cold look it would have send chills up any normal person's spine, but of course Dominic was not normal. Actually, he was as far from normal as one could, after all he did believe he was a vampire.
“I only wanted to say hello. Like I said, I've heard a lot about you, you interest me. But I see I have offended you... it was not my intention to do that,” he could tell right away he had made a mistake in his approach towards Alec. Perhaps praising him for his past deeds had been a error on his part, but in his defense he was a vampire wannabe who attacked people for their blood and the thrill of the kill. He just thought Alec would be proud of what he had done, actually to the would-be vampire it was rather impressive.
“I know we are not meeting on the best of circumstances. Things are truly complicated,” he admitted to Alec, his voice oddly soft like he were being sincere and kind, though with Dominic it was difficult to tell if he was being honest or not. For now, it appeared he was being sincere.

Alec continued to stare at Dominic for a long moment, studying him. Who did this guy think he was? And there was a feeling lurking between them, something Alec couldn’t quiet place. Normally, he received only two emotions from others and that was fear or hatred. But this guy, Dominic Graves, seemed to feel something different. Intrigued maybe? The concept was foreign to Alec. Why would anyone want to willingly speak to him? Hadn’t he done his job in pushing people a way? In making them think he was some sort of tainted disease that would slaughter them without thinking twice? But then, he couldn’t be completely sure if that was true.
“Complicated?”
Alec’s circumstances hadn’t been complicated at all. The bastards had raped his Caroline, taken her away from him long before she’d disposed of her body. But dammit he’d tried, tried to make things better. Those men deserved to die for their crimes, and Alec had been Caroline’s avenger. Not that anyone knew that. But what they did know is the deaths had been long and painful for each man. Alec hadn’t flinched, and most of his psychiatric therapist believed he’d enjoyed the deaths. Well…maybe he had a little in some way, but only because he’d caused them pain like they’d done to his world, his life, Caroline.
“You have no idea what you’re talking about.”
There was blame and angst mixed into the lyrics, but above all there was a burning hatred for the memories that plagued his heart. Once again he changed his demeanor to the silent type, just looking on at the stranger with caution. Eyes cold and detached, but on their edges a fire burned.

Gently Dominic tilted his head at Alec's words, he could almost feel the negative emotions coming off each word that dripped from the man's lips. Most people probably would call it a day and walk away from Alec to let him enjoy his solitude, but not Dominic. No, he was staying right there, even though Alec seemed like he wanted to punch him in the face. “No, suppose I don't know what I am talking about in your case,” he replied as his blue-green depths meeting the cold ones of the angry young man. Very slowly his lips lifted upwards into a faint smile as if he were trying to cheer Alec up or perhaps he was fond of the troubled young man. He had to admit he found him intriguing, after all he was handsome and he had an intensity about him which appealed to the would-be vampire.
“I think perhaps we go off on the wrong foot... Let's start this over. I am Dominic and I just thought I would introduce myself because you seem like someone I would like to meet and all my intentions are of the purest I swear,” he said, trying to form some kind of amiability between them, though he had a good feeling that Alec had no interest in making friends with him. It was clear by Dominic's manner that this was not a common thing for him, he was not a person who made friends very well. In fact he could count the friends he had in his life on his hand and they were pretty much gone from his life. It seemed like no one wanted to be his friend.

Alec just stood there for a long time, observing and watching. Slowly but surely he felt the familiar burning heat in his gut, the rise he started to feel when his temper began to flare up. Cold distant eyes began to mutate into something with more fire, more pure unadulterated rage. Rage at whom and for what he couldn’t be sure, but eyes narrowed at the stranger in front of him. No, not a stranger- some sort of backwards high profiling worshiper. Or maybe someone confused, confused like Alec was. But then when he spoke, and acknowledged he knew nothing about Alec or Alec’s circumstances – the rage quieted. Even though it had dropped its onslaught, he knew it was still there, waiting for the right trigger to surge it forward once more. Having nothing more to say, he thought of leaving. But soon those thoughts were pushed aside as the man spoke once more, attempting to rectify a lose situation.
“You already know who I am.”
The words were growled out, as if the tone itself would make his position on their re-acquaintance known. Alec took a step back, not out of fear- but in some distant cognitive effort to put another step in between them. The more space there, the longer it would take for Alec to wrap his hands around the mans throat. The violent turn of thoughts caught him off guard, as they usually did. This was his only way of trying to quell them.
“Pure intentions are not found in the walls of a mad house Dominic Graves. What is it you want?”
The growl was still there in his chest as he positioned himself away from the other patient, taking on the facial expression of a wild animal. Eyes glanced to the guard on the side of the room who was watching them carefully. Knowing he was being watched only seemed to spike his temper, causing him to shake his head.
