Adam was so dead set on getting breakfast started he didn't catch on to the awkward silence until she stretched. Honestly he didn't mean to make it awkward it kind of just happened that way, so he was glad that she spoke up to break it. Oh jeeze, did she think he was going to consider her his girl? That he would be saying I love you and all of that cheesy shit? Oh no he wasn't. Yeah he liked to snuggle, it was a bit girly but he did, and if she didn't like it he would find another way to wake her up that was all. Adam couldn't resist laughing at her question and he wiped his hands clean, having to reach into the cabinet above her anyway. When he was close he looked at her, that playful little smirk on his face again.
"No because I love you, Lex. I need you in my life!" He started to pretend to cry, only breaking down into laughter quickly. Reaching into the cabinet he got what he needed, closing it and looking back at her again. "I get this is just casual, it's just sex. Hell I'm not ready to settle down in a relationship, too much fun to be had. But I should be allowed to do this still-" he kissed her and smirked, going back to the stove so he could finish making the waffles. Adam didn't want a relationship, didn't need a relationship especially since it was so much hassle being in one. Maybe later on he would want one, but that would be way later on in his life after he had had all of the fun that he wanted to have. Knowing this was just casual was perfect, they could kind of use each other for the sex whenever they needed it. Oh god, sex at work would be amazing but he couldn't think about that right now.
As he cooked he glanced over at her, giving a slightly lopsided smile. "I won't tell anyone about your cute little sounds you make in your sleep or while having sex, either." He snorted and laughed, remembering a few things from the night before. It was adorable, he would admit it but it was only meant as a friendly way of saying cute or adorable. Hopefully it didn't make her feel awkward.

Alex didn’t even have time to be shocked by his fabricated confession before he was already breaking down in laughter. Once more, she playfully punched him in the stomach- but this time her hand just rested against his abs as he grabbed something from the cabinet. She was glad he understood what this was and was completely okay with it. But if he hadn’t of been, it wouldn’t have changed the fact that she didn’t want a relationship. When his lips touched hers again, she made a little sound of surprise.
“I think I can live with that.”
A playful smile lit up her face as she watched him cook, thankful it wasn’t her standing behind the stove. No, Alex didn’t cook. She ordered pizzas or takeout. If she’d been standing close enough to pop him for his next comment he would have.
“I do not make cute noises Mr. Cuddle Bear.”
Alex took a sideways glance around the apartment once more. Man, she wished her place were this nice. The apartment she lived in wasn’t bad or anything, but she wished it had an alarm system. She also wished to have one installed wouldn’t cost a bloody fortune.
“Hey, what’s the security system like for this complex?”
Yeah so, he offered her a shower, was cooking her breakfast, and gave her some of the best casual sex she’d had in awhile and she finished up by asking about the security system. She had her reasons for being curious though, not they he needed to know them or anything. She leaned up from the counter and walked over to stand behind him, smelling in the delicious smell of food. As she waited for him to finish, she picked up her phone from the counter. Of course it hadn’t done any good because the thing was dead as a doornail. Oh well.

Her little punch wasn't hard at all, he had barely felt it and wouldn't have noticed had she not put her hand there when he reached up for the PAM. She was a good looking girl, he wouldn't lie to her, but being in a relationship with her would be too..awkward. Thankfully she knew when he was being stupid and didn't get mad at him for his little confession. Adam had tried that with one girl before but apparently she thought he was serious and left. Whoops. He now had someone else to put in his bed in place of that chick, one that he saw himself getting along with for a long time. "I'd hope you could tolerate that. That sex was too good to ruin not having it again," he laughed, settling in to cook.
Mr Cuddle Bear. That was a new one that caused him to turn to give her a light look before he laughed. "What can I say? I like to cuddle, next time I'll just wake you up by fucking your brains out until you open your eyes, sound good?" The snort that came from him was quite comical and it made Adam laugh at himself, eyes turning back to the waffles he was currently cooking. They weren't going to be the traditional waffles with the little dented square thingies in them since he didn't have a waffle iron. No, they were cooked almost like a pancake but they came out like a waffle. They were just epically delicious. Or was it magically delicious? Wait, wasn't that the theme for Lucky Charms? Whatever, he was too old to think about that crap so he made sure he changed what he was thinking asap. "And for the record, your noises are kind of cute. Watching you try to keep quiet is entertaining but it was impossible to do that last night." He turned enough to wink at her, needing to get this food on the table because he was hungry.
"Security here is pretty good, every apartment has it's own security system and there are always guards at the doors and the entrances to the parking lots. It's impossible to get in here without anyone seeing you, trust me I tried," he laughed as he put the first large waffle on a plate. There was no need for him to tell that story if she wasn't going to explain why she wanted to know about the security of the complex. Shaking his head he was glad the second waffle went faster than the other one, setting the plates on the table before looking at her. "What would you like to drink? I have milk, orange juice, apple juice, beer, vodka, and way too much soda."

Alex just ignored his crude comment, though it did get her to thinking about the night before. It would be a shame to never have that kind of sex again. She moseyed over to the table and sat down, still watching him while he slaved over the stove. Or well, it looked like slaving to her but even boxed dinners were a chore in her opinion. She barely contain her excitement as he placed the waffle into a plate, she was starving.
Alex was surprised at how much security the complex seemed to have. It would have been nice to know about that when she moved here. It would have been worth paying the extra for. But to be honest, she’d hoped Calvin wouldn’t come looking for her. And for a while she’d been safe with that, it was only recently the letters had started appearing. Alexis shoved the thoughts from her mind though, determined to enjoy this breakfast. Even if Adam insisted on calling her cute every five seconds,
“Ok Sir-jokes-alot, Once I find something that annoys you, please believe I’m going to do it as much as humanly possible- among other things of course.”
She winked at him, showing she was only teasing. Alex laughed as he asked her what she wanted to drink, returning her answer in a teasing tone, covering her chest and pretending to swoon at the table.
“Vodka in the morning? A man after my own heart! I think I’ll settle for some O.J. though if you don’t mind.”
She laughed, moving the smaller of the two waffles in front of her. She was glad Adam was only looking for the same thing she was, a good time. Alexis genuinely liked him and would have hated to start avoiding him like the plague. Luckily though, their casual encounters could repeat themselves in the days to come if they wished. Alec definitely wished for that, and maybe she would try to remain a little soberer next time.
“Thanks for breakfast Adam.”

Adam was always known as a joker, he had never really been serious in his life except for his fathers funeral and when he was in the academy. Even then he had tried to find times when he could make a joke and make the people around him laugh. It wasn't too hard to do considering he had a great sense of humor, but even that could get annoying sometimes. Thankfully Alex wasn't getting annoyed with him and was playing back with him, something he was enjoying. "Sorry, my dear, but there really isn't a whole lot that annoys me. My dad had always been this carefree guy so I kind of took on that as I grew up and now look at me. I'm a class clown," he smirked, turning to go get their drinks. "It is almost noon, you know, right?" Adam laughed, pouring her orange juice into a cup and poured himself some apple juice, setting the cups on the table.
Syrup, butter and knives and forks followed before he sat down at the small round table, his mouth actually watering. First it was a good old gulp of apple juice, god he loved apple juice. It was actually kind of comical to think that a grown man like him could love a drink that was normally given to toddlers and babies. There could be nothing else in the house but Adam would have apple juice. He looked up form his waffle with a gentle smile, shrugging. "You're welcome. Not going to send you home on an empty stomach and if you have a migraine I have stuff for it. I get them so bad when I drink no matter how little or how much I do drink I stock up on the ibuprofen and everything so I'm not suffering through the day."
He smiled gently and dug into his waffle, surprised at how hungry he was. He had made himself dinner before he left the apartment last night and then had had some more drinks at the bar. Yet he was so hungry as if he hadn't eaten a single thing the night before. He was also a bottomless pit on a normal day, so it really wasn't a surprise to him. "Where do you live, anyway? Just curious." Adam gave a light shrug, glancing to her and back to his breakfast.

She had a feeling it was nearing noon but that was still a little early for alcohol, even for her. Alex was thankful she’d been off today; otherwise she’d have a shit storm waiting for her when she finally got to the Manor. As soon as the syrup, butter, and utensils were on the table, Alex wasted no time in digging into her waffle. She savored the first bite, closing her eyes and leaning back in the chair. Once she was down, she looked over at Adam with an appreciative smile,
“Oh my god, this is amazing.”
And it really was. She just nodded as he talked about usually getting migraines. Alex wasn’t a big fan of medicine, but she had her own bottle of beautiful Excedrin waiting on her at her apartment. She continued munching on her waffle and it was nearly gone by the time he asked her where she lived.
“Oh. Parkdrive Apartments, named for literally being across the street from the park. Not a bad area, the apartments aren’t quiet as nice as yours and they lack all the nifty security features.”
Security features…Alex made a mental note to save up the money to get the damn security alarm system installed. It would still be cheaper to do that then to try and break her lease to move to a safer place. And besides, hopefully with these new moves Eliot was teaching her she could kick Calvin’s sorry ass if he showed his face.
“I’ll just have to hope Eliot teaches me my own security features then, huh?”
She tilted her head and smiled, glancing up from her breakfast towards Adam. He probably thought she was one of the craziest people he’d met, but she didn’t mind. A lot of people thought she was a little more forward then necessary about everything. To Alex, she just never wanted to go back to being someone else’s punching bag.
Seeing she was done with her food, she grabbed the plate and immediately went to the kitchen to wash it. It didn’t but a couple of seconds and she didn’t mind, after all he’d been nice enough to offer his shower and cook her breakfast. She washed her hands and turned the faucet off, retuning to take a seat at the table across from Adam.
“We can head to my car whenever your ready.”

Adam nodded, knowing exactly where her apartment was. "I was looking there when I first moved out here but I first moved into the place down the road. Those condos but that was a giant shithole so I moved up here,' he nodded, finishing off his waffle pretty quickly. When it came to him being very hungry he was going to eat and the only thing that would delay him would be his talking. Of course, maybe if he learned how to slow down and not talk so much he would be able to actually eat at a normal pace like the rest of the world. He remembered how his mother had tried to get him to shut up when he was a kid but nothing ever worked. He'd babble on until he had no voice left.
He laughed at her mention of Eliot and his karate skills, Adam could lay him out easily. "If you want to learn karate then be my guest. I feel as though the military combat I was taught would be better but I won't go up against Eliot in a fight, I like his face too much." He made a snort of a laugh, shaking his head. Eliot was a good guy, had really been open with Adam when he first arrived at the manor despite Adam's cocky police attitude. Thankfully in a short six months he had calmed his attitude down and was more chill than most cops from his home town were. All Adam had had to do back home was mention that he was a cop and he had four girls on his arm. Cops were especially liked in Philly thanks to the amount of murders they had a year and the cops pretty much risked their lives everyday. Girls liked that so Adam had a girl just about every night if he wanted them.
"We can go get it once I put a shirt on," Adam nodded and walked over with his dishes. Alex didn't have to do her dishes but she did, so Adam did his before heading back towards his room. It only took a few minutes for him to dig one out and then pull his sneakers on. "Keys..." he said to himself, bouncing around his apartment until he found them by the door. Damn, they really had been in a hurry last night for him to just throw his keys wherever. Shrugging at himself he just picked up his keys, put his sunglasses on and waited for her. "Shall I carry you down the steps? I carried you up the last half of them last night," he offered, holding his arms out with a light smirk on his face.

Alexis let out a genuine laugh as Adam spoke of Eliot and what he thought was his better technique. While she didn’t know who would honestly win if it ever came down to a fight between the two, it was a fight she hoped to never see. As much as she loved to pick on Eliot, she thought he was a pretty good person. And Adam she obviously enjoyed or she would be here now. No, better they keep their little kung-fu hands to themselves. Meanwhile she would just keep learning as much as she could, until the day came and she was forced to use it.
“Well its not like most of the people walking down the street know military moves, so I think I’ll have a fair shot with Eliot’s karate.”
She couldn’t help but think she sort of sounded like she expected a fight. In all honestly she hoped it would never happen but hey, a girl couldn’t really be too careful. Alex sat back in her chair while Adam went to do his dishes before disappearing into his bedroom. By the time he’d come back out, she was standing by the counter placing her completely dead cell phone in her pocket. A small smile worked its way into her features as he picked at her once more about the stairs.
“I think I can manage thank you.”
Giving him a light shove, she quickly exited the apartment. As she went down the stairs she skipped a step every now and then until she reached the bottom and turned to look back at Adam. Alex leaned against the rail, over looking the fairly large parking lot. Once again she was reminded of how plastered she’d been the night before. She grinned sheepishly as she looked back, twisting her hair with her fingers as she did so with a little laugh,
“So…Adam…I have no idea what you drive, or rather, I don't remember.”

"Only cops and military dudes know those," he chuckled with a light shrug. It was true, Adam had never met anyone that hadn't been enrolled in the military or in the police force that knew the moves he did. It was an advantage for him because he could really get someone good, but it could be a disadvantage if he over reacted. Oh well, Eliot could teach Alex all he wanted but he hoped he taught her right and didn't screw her over. Alex didn't seem like she'd have the strength to flip someone over yet but maybe she would eventually. Oh that would make some kinky foreplay-he had to stop himself. Shaking his head, he grabbed his keys, said his joke and listened to her comeback.
"Don't fall, I trip on these things when I'm sober," he commented while taking the steps, watching her skip a few as she went down the steps. Once he was standing beside her he laughed at her mention of not remembering what he drove despite how distinctive his car was. Looking through the window he spotted it immediately, pointing over at it. "The black Charger with green and white racing stripes." Those stripes were custom, he had put them on himself with the help of his best friend from back home. Despite the fact that the car was a sport car, it was one of the most comfortable cars to drive away from home to this place. It was a long ass drive, any normal person would have taken at least two days but he did it all in 18 hours so he could make it here. Then crashed for almost a day and a half just from the tiring drive.
Walking out into the sun he stayed beside her and opened the door for her. That was a normal thing for him to do so hopefully she didn't read into it. "Do you remember where you parked your car?" He asked gently, turning the key and listening to the engine roar to life. Hitting the road it took all of ten minutes to get to the bar and then to her car."Did you get a ticket?"

Alex turned to look at the car she’d previously ridden in the night before. It was a pretty nice ride she had to admit. While she couldn’t help but fee like the racing stripes were usually a bit over the top, they did look pretty damn good on this particular car. As she closed the distance between her in the car, she frowned a bit at the heat. Summer wasn’t really her favorite season. Trying to keep herself in a good mood though, she ignored the humidity and climbed into the charger. The ride to the bar was a fairly quick one, and as soon as she spotted her car she answered Adam’s question.
“Not really, but I see it. The blue jeep.”
She motioned towards the blue jeep wrangler, her pride and joy. It had been her college graduation present to her self, and it was perfect for all of the extreme sports she enjoyed. It held her rock climbing gear nearly all the time; it wasn’t something she liked to lug up and down stairs every time she needed it. Adams next statement though made her frown. She glanced at the tiny sheet of paper attached to her windshield as she climbed out of his car and headed towards her own. “A ticket? I doubt it. The bartenders have never had a problem with me leaving it here over night before….” All of the bartenders here knew her by name and most of them had insisted she leave the car here at some point or another, pushing her to call a cab instead. She reached out and took the paper, realizing it was folded down. As she unfolded it, her heart began to skip a beat. Alex forced her self to calm down though, there was no way it could be what she thought it was. But her fears were affirmed when the neatly typed message appeared. ‘Tsk Tsk Tsk. I’m disappointed in you Sexi-Lexi. Didn’t think pretty boys were your type. I bet he didn’t even pay you for your services. Look forward to seeing you soon, - Yours truly, C.’ Her heart stopped. Sexi-Lexi, she hated, no loathed that nickname. With a look of panic, Alex dropped the sheet of paper onto the car and used the hood of her jeep to support her weight, not trusting her knees for a second. Hesitant green gaze rose to look towards Adam. How could he have known she was…? But then it all made sense. The only way he could have known she’d gone home with someone. The only way he could have placed the note on her car. He’d been here. Alex tried to speak and keep her voice as steady as possible, but she couldn’t completely hide the shock in her voice. “Adam…I’ll…see you later…okay?” Oh god, he’d been within feet of her and she hadn’t realized it, too drunk too notice probably. If she’d left the bar by herself…oh god she didn’t even want to think about it. Alex sunk down against her tire, cradling her head in her hands. What was she going to do? Adam turned the air on as soon as he could, glad his car was already pretty warm from the sun. It was a black car so it got hot inside quickly, but the engine also warmed up better because of how it retained the heat. By the time they reached her car it was at least comfortable inside, but she had to get out. Adam pulled in behind her car and got out, going to offer to pay for the ticket if that's what it was. After all, he had taken her home in his car and left her car here, it was only a gentlemanly thing to do in his mind. The clicking of her heels made him smirk as he remembered last night, shaking the thought from his head when he saw her reaction.
"Lex?" He asked gently, stepping forward so he could see her face. Then when she barely stammered out she'd seem him later he snatched the note off the car to read it. A frown reached his face as he dropped his hip to lean against the car, an idea coming to his head. "Let me guess, this C dude is an ex boyfriend?" Adam raised an eyebrow as he watched her, getting annoyed the more he read that part about him not paying her for her services. Whoever this guy was he was an ass and had better not cross paths with Adam. No, they weren't together, but Adam most certainly wasn't going to allow someone to be a dick to her. There was no reason for it since Alex was a good chick, she just liked sex like he did.
Watching her slide down against the tire he crouched down beside her, reaching over to pull on her arm gently. "Hey, I won't let him get at you whatever his problem is. I guess this is why Eliot is teaching you those karate moves?" He dropped down so he was sitting facing her, arms on his knees while his chin rest on his arm. Adam wasn't leaving until she felt ok enough to go home, and if she didn't feel safe going home she was more than welcome at his house. Shit, another round of what happened last night? He was so down for that. And even if that didn't happen, having someone around to joke with would be nice. Adam was too over protective sometimes of people, it was just how he was and he hoped she didn't get annoyed with it.

Alex paled, as she was sure he was reading the note. Mind reeled with questions and concerns. How had he known she was at the bar last night? He must have been following her for more then a couple of days, getting to know her routine. “Let me guess, this C dude is an ex boyfriend?” Alexis could do nothing but nod weakly, unable to find her voice as much as she wanted to. There wasn’t much in the world she feared, in fact, the only current fear she held was of Calvin. She couldn’t explain why, other then it might have been from their history together.
She hoped Adam wouldn’t think that this was in someway his fault, but didn’t really feel like explaining who and what exactly her ex was. He was a monster and this note had been just one of his games he played, letting her know he was watching her and knew her movements. The thought caused Alex to look up and glance around them, hoping he wasn’t watching her now. “Hey, I won’t let him get at you whatever his problem is. I guess this is why Eliot is teaching you those karate moves?” Wide green eyes stared at him as if he’d just discovered some big secret of hers, something she hadn’t wanted to let anyone know.
“Yes…but…Adam, you can’t tell him. He’ll want me to go to the police.”
She didn’t know that for sure, but she had a good idea that was exactly what he would do. Come to think of it, Alex gave Adam a hard look. Would he tell her she needed to do that very thing. There was a desire an Alexis to make sure he knew exactly where she stood on this.
“I can deal with this…I…I can handle it…”
Silent curses filled her mind at the weakness of her own words. Instead of sounding like the strong fearless independent woman she’d worked so hard to become, she sounded like a small child who was putting up a fight because she didn’t want to go to bed. Adam shook his head, knowing full well he wasn't going to tell Eliot anything. "I'm not going to tell him, Alex. There's no reason for me to tell him," He looked at her as if she were joking, knowing he wouldn't tell a soul about the issues with her ex boydouche. "And I'm not going to tell you to go to the cops either so wipe the look off your face." He smirked, scrunching his nose a little bit to attempt to make her laugh. It was just in his nature to try to make people laugh in a rough situation, he didn't know why but it usually worked to make people a little bit happier. It did get him in trouble sometimes but he wasn't going to stop being himself. Adam had always been a joker and always would be.
"I'll trust you that you can but if you need a place to crash, I know we're just having some good sex but I have an extra bedroom or a couch that you can crash on. I dunno if he knows where you're living at at the moment," he shrugged, quirking his head to the side to watch her. Then it dawned on him, in order for the guy to know Alex had gone home with Adam he had to be at the bar the night before. Adam's eyes widened for a moment before he wiped the look of his face, not wanting her to know he had put the pieces together. She said she could handle it so he would let her handle it. If he tried to be Mr. Protective she might pull away from him and never make it to his bed again.
Shaking his head and standing, he reached down to hoist her up. "Come on, go home, get cleaned up and chill out. If he shows up, give me a call I'll be around and if you need a place to stay, like I said, I've got my apartment and it's secure." He smiled a bit and shrugged, heading for his car. In this situation Adam had no idea if he was supposed to kiss her, hug her, jump her or just walk away. Instead of making it awkward by kissing her, he walked away since she had mentioned earlier his little lovey stuff wasn't going to fly very well.

Even though she didn’t show it, she was thrilled that he wouldn’t be telling Eliot or the police about her situation. It made her feel like she could trust him just a little bit more then she realized, which was an amazing feeling to her. Trust didn’t really come easy to Alex and once it was earned it was always on temperamental blocks. A small smile formed on her face at his attempt to cheer her up. Words couldn’t express how much she appreciated the small gesture.
His offer shocked her though; she couldn’t believe he’d so willingly offered her a place to stay. Of course, part of it was probably just for the sex, which Alex had to admit, would be nice to have readily available whenever they wanted it. But deep down she knew Adam was a good guy and just trying to do the right thing, at least a part of him anyway. Knowing that made it a little easier for her to shake her head no at his offer. It was still nice knowing it was there.
As he lifted her up, she realized the strength had finally returned to her legs and she immediately stood on her own. A small smile working its way into her face, washing away the previous pale terror that had stricken her normally good looks. She poked him in the chest playfully, a small laugh reverberating outwards,
“Well thank you. I’ll have to pass on the place to stay though, knowing you we’d never get any sleep. Which wouldn’t be a bad thing if it weren’t for the fact we both have jobs to keep.”
She watched as he walked to his car, the small urge to hug him thankfully crossed her mind but almost immediately it was gone. Alex didn’t really do hugs unless it was leading up into some sort of sexual encounter. With a small frown she then turned and unlocked her wrangler, climbing into it and checking the back seat just to be safe as she did so.
