He walks around the yard quietly and solemnly looking over the other patients. While other guards stood around watching as well. His uniform was getting heated, but he brushed it off as tolerable. He slowly wandered to the far side, kind of pacing. He had seen plenty of action here so far, and it was definitely a line of work that kept you on your toes. His blue eyes scoured over the patients, some chatting quietly, and some frantically. While others sat in a corner by themselves. He wondered what was going on through their minds and had sympathy. Especially for the young ones, some as young as sixteen, it shocked him. Although he was getting on the old side, well at least he felt old. If you call thirty being old, but oh well it didn't matter to him. His days here have been interesting, but his thoughts still lingered. Most of the guys on security were younger than him, except for Eliot who was a year older.
He sighed and continued walking slowly back and forth just to maintain a perimeter around the patients. He felt paranoid at the feelings inside, and cursed at himself silently. He sure could use a drink and grunted softly. His parents and sister have been dead for so long, and he really didn't have family anymore. Or friends for that matter, and he was quite content with that. Although he did admit it would be nice to have at least one person to be around. He finally decided to plant himself in the ground and just stand there. The sun blazed his vision so he squinted to still keep an eye out for any trouble that may be stirring. And continues on to more thinking just thinking and watching.
[Sorry it's bad. I might be leaving soon so I ran outta muse x.x]

Abigail lay silently in the grass, just watching the clouds pass by. It was her second day here, and once again she found herself killing time out in the yard. It was difficult being stuck inside with everyone else, she was still maintaining the believe that she didn't belong here, she wasn't crazy....well that she knew to be a lie. She may not be full on crazy but she had problems, after all she had tried to kill herself.
Laying here she'd come to the conclusion that she didn't blame her parents for saving her life. Although at the time she hadn't wanted to be saved, she understood that as her parents they couldn't just allow her to throw away her life like that. At the same time however she hated them for it, it was her life, and she hated it. She was a person she despised all she craved was the peace death would have brought.
Pushing herself up, Abigail gingerly touched the bandages around her wrists and sighed. Maybe there was a reason she'd survived though, maybe this place could help her deal with the darkness inside her. Standing up she stretched her arms over her head and sighed deeply, looking around as she did. Twirling around, she stretched her arms out to her sides and then moved over to the flower patch, plucking a small daisy. Twirling it between her fingers she smiled slightly and made to turn around, colliding with another body as she did, "Oh...I'm so sorry..."

He stood still pondering until he someone had run into him. He fumbled backwards, almost falling, but he caught himself. He broke out of his thoughts and look down at the person. It was a girl, she looked fairly young yet, and the bandages on her wrists. He didn't want to think about what had probably happened. He heard the apology and softened. At first he couldn't find his voice he struggled almost frowning, "It's alright." He said quietly almost in a faint whisper. He felt he needed to say more but he just couldn't grip himself. He looked at her and wondered how a girl like her could have gotten herself into the asylum. She was holding a flower which he had to admit kinda made him smile. In fact he chuckled quietly, hoping not to frighten her.
"Do you like flowers?" He fumbled out and almost smacked himself. What a stupid thing to say he argued with himself silently. Although still in awe he watched her movements carefully, and hoping not to scare her off or make her cry. She seemed sensitive and he tried to avoid eye contact but he felt rude. So he tried to remain in eye contact. She kind of seemed like his sister, innocent, sweet. But probably in pain like his sister, but then it reminded him of his last call with his sister. She was crying and pleading that she missed him and wanted him there to help with the house. He looks at the flower with a longing and wishing he didn't deny his sister that request of to move back into his parents house.

Abigail blushed slightly, but smiled. One glance at what the man was wearing and she instantly recognised him as Security. He chuckled lightly and she inclined her head to the side slightly, wondering why he did that. "Do you like flowers?" smiling again she nodded her head. "Of course, although I do prefer white Camellia's and forget me nots..." she answered.
Tucking the flower into the button hole on her shirt, she looked back up at the man and smiled again. Holding out her hand, "Abigail Watson..." she said, introducing herself.

He almost blushed himself, but kept a straight face. Trying to keep his cool, but something about her just made him want to melt. And that sweet smile, but what was he doing. The slight tilt of her head made him wonder why she did that. But who knows and the flowers. Of course she did again he resisted slapping himself for that comment. He shifted his weight looking down at her. He watched her tuck the flower into her shirt and admired the flower. Although he had the urge to put it in her hair and again shoved that urge away. He just met her, but he did indeed need a friend. It was pretty lonely not having anyone to chat to. He felt his trust was deeply embedded into her already, but he stopped to think. She's a patient and although as sweet as she looks he wondered if the wrists were all the reason she was here. The curiosity burned at him and suddenly realized he was staring at her wrists as she pulled her hand out to shake his. Abigail he rolled through his name, and smiled only faintly. "I am Collin Ross." He hesitated but grabbed her hand and shook it delicately. His big rough hand almost consuming her small and smooth delicate hands. He looked at the sky for a moment wondering just wondering what it would be like if his sister didn't die. Would he still be here? And again shoved the thought away as hard as he possibly could.
He looked down again, "My sister loved petunias." Again he didn't know why he opened up like that. Of course his sister adored flowers and he would help her watch over them until her teen years hit and her world went askew. "Although I am a white rose man myself." He wanted to laugh ludicrously at himself. Did he just admit he liked flowers? He smacked his lips and did a silent chuckle shaking his head. He shuffled his feet a little more, but there was just something today. He couldn't get himself to sit still for long, it was quite possible due to his workouts. He has been taking it easy this past week with the transition and not finding enough time to jog himself out.
[Muse A LOT better that time around haha.]

Abigail didn't miss the way the man stared at her wrists, but she pushed the urge to hide her hands behind her back, away. What was done was done, and she wasn't ashamed of it, in fact she was more upset it hadn't worked. A flash of intense anger shot through her making her want to scream, to hit someone, but when the man covered her hand with his own she was brought back, "I am Collin Ross." he said introducing himself. With a smile Abigail nodded her head, causing her red hair to fall over her shoulders, "Well it's very nice to meet you Collin Ross."
"My sister loved petunias." she smiled again, "Peatunia's are lovely, in fact my mother...." catching herself almost beginning to talk about her Mother she froze. Shaking her head she shrugged, "Doesn't matter..." she told him quietly, her eyes flickering to a point over his shoulder, "Although I am a white rose man myself." this time she found herself pleasently surprised and it showed on her face. "White Roses huh? I have to admit they are beautiful but I never would have pegged you as a white rose kind a guy..." she said, her eyes catching on the guard across the yard. Pulling a face she turned her back on him, not liking the way he tended to roughly handle the other patients, her included. "Do you want to walk around?" she asked, not missing the way he was shifting slightly, as though restless.

As she put her wrists behind her back he instantly felt bad for staring. He didn't mean to just had a habit of it, and necessarily didn't like it when he did stare. His lips still stood in a straight line as she smiled. "Well it's very nice to meet you Collin Ross." He nodded slightly, "It's nice to meet you too." Once she began talking about her mother and paused he noticed the tension of the subject. And then the quiet, "Doesn't matter." His eyes instantly flicked to concerned, and shifted to amused. As she said, "White roses huh? I have to admit they are beautiful but I never would of pegged you as a white rose kinda guy... He laughed quietly, "Well, it depends on how one may know me. I do have a compassionate side but.." he trailed off and ended it at that.
He saw her looking at a guard across the yard and he guessed she had a bad encounter on the way she turned. Yeah he's restrained a few unruly ones but he always tried to be careful with the females. And he knew how some guards could be, especially if they are high on an ego. As she suggested they walk and he nodded. "Yeah that would be fine, lead the way. Ladies first." He winked slightly hoping it would come of funny but he sure had a dull sense of humor. Again he kinda wanted to bite his tongue on the comment but kept a faint smile. As he stood by her side.

Abigail smiled and stepped forward, relaxing slightly she allowed her arms to swing by her sides. It was nice to have someone sane to talk to, even if she wasn't quite sane herself. Brushing her hair behind her ears, she brushed down the ac/dc t-shirt she was wearing and her jeans. "I've never been called a lady before...I think I quite like it." she said after a few moments of silence, once again shooting a easy smile at Collin.
Biting down on her lip she looked around, before looking back at him, "If you don't mind me asking...what made you want to work in a place like this? Surely there's better places you could be spending your time?" she asked, not wishing to pry but she was curious. Most of the patients here were here against their will, she couldn't imagine anyone actually WANTING to work here...

He glimpsed at her shirt and smiled, "I like the shirt." He said warmly and watched her put hair behind her ears. It felt good as he stretched out his legs slowly lengthening his stride to stretch his legs out. "I've never been called a lady before... I think I quite like it." And the smile that was shot his way melted him, "Well you should it's a good thing." He smiled ever so brightly and sideways glanced at her. And his hands rubbed silently removed themselves from his pockets and dangled at his sides. He always thought he was too tall when he was younger but he honestly loved his height.
He caught her biting her lip as if she didn't want to say something. But he figured her curiosity was very strong as she said her question anyways. "Well.." he hesitated, thinking. "I was a police officer for a year but I didn't like it very well. It was my moms job, she was killed in the line of duty. I mean I don't know she was never home and I was left to care for my sister." He kind of faded off while his thoughts wandered and he continued on. "So I went to work at a museum as a security guard for a couple years. But that was so boring I couldn't help myself almost falling asleep on the job." He chuckled slightly. "I chose here because I'd have a more active role. And besides I don't have any family left so.." He kinda felt a pain growing and looked down. He never mentioned his family much but when he did it indeed hurt him. But he didn't want her thinking she disturbed him so he gave a smile. "I'll be okay, don't feel bad."

"I was a police officer for a year but I didn't like it very well. It was my moms job, she was killed in the line of duty. I mean I don't know she was never home and I was left to care for my sister." Abigail frowned sadly, "I'm sorry..." she whispered, and as he continued she felt her sorrow for him growing. Here she was, wishing her life was over and he'd lost some of the most important people in his life, too soon, she felt incredibly selfish, but she couldn't help it. Crossing her arms she covered her bandages and glanced back up at him, not missing the pain that passed over his face, and even when he reassured her she still felt bad for making him talk of such things. "I'm sorry for bringing it up...I do tend to put my foot in my mouth..." she sighed.
She began playing with a loose thread on the bottom of her t-shirt as they fell into a silence. "You been here long?" she asked, "I mean this is only my second day and I cannot wait till they realise what a mistake they've made, and let me go home. I so do not belong in here..." she said the last part quietly, biting down on her bottom lip.

"I'm sorry... he heard her whisper and wanted to console her that he was fine. But he knew that he shouldn't lie to himself. "I'm sorry for bringing it up...I do tend to put my foot in my mouth..." he then heard her say. "Don't worry about it. It's no big deal." The sigh she made, he didn't want her fretting over him. He was going to be okay and he knew it. He just looked at her softly as she played with a thread on her shirt. "You been here long?" He smiled, "Not at all, this would be my first day." He heard her statement and wondered if he should pursue it. He hesitated, "Well you seem pretty fine to me, but I'm no doctor." As he saw her bite her lip again and he hesitated. "Well maybe you will get better soon so you can get out of here." He wanted to give her hope. She was just young, beautiful, and had a lot of life ahead of her to just be wasting in an asylum. As they walked on he saw a bird, a robin flying over head then landing in some grass not far off.
As they continued to walk, "Plus you seem to be a great person. And I am always here if you need something." He smiled at her, and knew he would trust her instantly, as long as that trust was returned which he was sure it would be. Although he didn't know much about her background, he decided that she was a good friend to have either way.

"Well maybe you will get better soon so you can get out of here." Abigail shook her head, and looked at Collin, "I am better, I mean...there's nothing wrong with me..." she stopped and stretched her arms out to the side, spinning around once, "See healthy as a fox...I make one little slip up and I get locked up..." she said, holding up her wrists. Huffing slightly she shook her head and turned away, taking a deep breath she forced down the anger that had suddenly flared up once more, inside her.
Rubbing her eyes she turned to face Collin as he spoke again "Plus you seem to be a great person. And I am always here if you need something." smiling softly she shrugged her shoulders, tucking her hands into her pockets, "I'm sorry...I have trouble controlling my emotions sometimes..." she sighed, feeling bad for having raised her voice. True she hadn't gotten really angry but she still felt a little embarresed having nearly lost it like that, after all Collin was trying to be a friend, and she could use one of them right now. From the corner of her eye she watched one of the security men step forward in response to her small outburst, and she stepped around Collin, moving to his right side. "I really am sorry....I just...it's still a raw subject, me being here. It wasn't exactly voluntary..." she admitted, biting down on her bottom lip, hating how weak she felt.

He watched her twirl and her actually mentioning her wrists. And he noticed she seemed angry, he cursed silently wishing the yard wasn't so open. He wanted to just hug her, but he knew the patient policy. And dropped the urge to do so and heard her apology again. "It's okay I have somewhat of a temper myself, depends though." He watched her switch sides and instantly looked in the direction of a guard and put his hand up glaring. The guard backed down as asked and said, "Jeesh, it's okay I won't let them grab you while I am around." He patted her shoulder lightly and let his hand dangle down back to his side.
He hoped the touch wouldn't scare her and he just continued listening to her. As they continued walking, "I can understand. You didn't want to be here, heck. Looks like it could be quite a scare for a sane person." He watched her softly and hoping that he would at least be making her feel better. No reason for her to be angry. Well maybe there was but he wanted to see that sweet smile of hers again. He smiled softly looking at her as they walked around the yard, and keeping an eye on the guards. He really didn't need to get into a brawl with a co-worker on the first day but it happens.

As Collin raised his hand to stop the other guard from approaching, Abigail peered around him and stuck her tongue out at the other man, she'd already taken a severe disliking to. When Collin patter her shoulder she tensed slightly, but almost immediately relaxed, already knowing without it being said that she could trust him. "Jeesh, it's okay I won't let them grab you while I am around." when he said that she shrugged, and tucked her hands down into her back pockets. "It's okay, the rest of them are alright I just don't like him, and I don't think he likes me to much anymore..." she trailed off, glancing away from Collin as she continued, "I accidently gave him that black eye..." she finished, remembering only last night, when she'd switched moods so rapidly, she'd lashed out at nothing, and accidently caught the guard when she spun around.
"I can understand. You didn't want to be here, heck. Looks like it could be quite a scare for a sane person. at this she nodded her head and sighed, "I just hate it...I don't see how sitting around talking about my feelings and my past and the at...." she cut off and closed her eyes, nearly having let out to much. The last thing she wanted was to scare Collin off by having him know what had happened to her all those years ago, and what it had turned her into. Releasing a breath she turned to him and smiled, "The only good thing about this place is the jello..." she said, laughing lightly.

He chuckled as she stuck her tongue out at him and listened on. "It's okay, the rest of them are alright I just don't like him, and I don't think he likes me to much anymore..." He tilted his head slightly and went back to his very common straight face. He intently listened to her voice, "I accidently gave him that black eye..." He just kind of felt bad as she looked away from him. He knew that maybe she felt ashamed for hurting someone like that. And he wished he could cheer her up but he was still unsure about a hug. She seemed a little uneasy when he patted her shoulder. So he left it at that as they walked on the sun was sure beating down and a trickle of sweat rolled down. He quickly wiped it away.
As they walked on and she said, "I just hate it...I don't see how sitting around talking about my feelings and my past and the at...." He watched her close her eyes and knew something more had to be troubling her than the wrists. "It's okay, but I mean if you ever want to let something out just tell me." He gave her a smile at the jello comment. "Well jello is pretty awesome." He laughed quietly and looked at her quietly. "Although I like to bring my own lunch. I know how cafeteria food is..." He looked at her smiling, "Maybe I can sneak you something better than that stuff." He said it quietly and winked with a bright smile.
