It had been two whole weeks, two weeks since she'd been admitted to Lucid Manor. Two week since she'd last seen her parents and two weeks since Abi had finally accepted that maybe she did have a few problems that needed seeing to. That wasn't to say she believed she belonged here...no Abigail was standing firm by the notion that this was the wrong place for her, yeah she had problems but nothing that she could see being fixed here. She wasn't crazy, not like some of the people here.
Although if she was being honest with herself, the longer sthe stayed her the crazier she started to feel. Not that you could blame her, being cooped up inside all day, being watched constantly, and the only source of fresh air was a small yard, that she barely went into anymore.
It had also been just under two weeks since she'd last seen Collin, but then again it wasn't like she'd expected him to stick around, she wasn't anything special, she was just a girl who tried to throw her life away with drugs, booze and a pair of scissors.
Today was a chilly day so wrapped in a a simple red jumper, jeans and sneakers, her hair pulled up into a messy bun, Abigail made her way through the library to an isolated area. It was right at the back of the room, behind a stack of shelves.
Alone time was hard to come by around here, and right now that's what she craved. Not wanting to be alone with her thoughts either, she'd opted to do some light reading, hoping to lose herself within the pages of any novel, and forget, if only for a little while, how crap her life was at the moment.
So with a copy of Jane Austin in her hand, she curled up on one of two comfy chairs there and opened the book to the first page, wishing again that she was anywhere but here.

Collin in his usual uniform as always looked like crap, he had signs of sleep deprivation written all over his face. For the last two weeks he was told to work on another side of the manor unable to see or reach Abigail. He felt bad and had listless nights. He was finally able to switch back over to the old routine. He was definitely on his toes and watching all around him like a good guard should. But as well as this he was searching for Abigail. He was hoping to try the library and hoped to find her in there. He was very agitated more than usual and his ability to sit still virtually didn't exist. He kept himself in check though, and he wasn't necessarily falling asleep on the job but he felt like he could definitely go to sleep for like a month. His reflexes were affected but he again kept his senses sharp.
He turned into the library slowly eyeing out other patients and nodded at another guard nearby. He lessened his stride and walked slowly around the book cases looking and hoping to find her. This was basically the last place he had come to look except for her room. So he was hoping she wasn't locked up in her room. He suddenly spotted her beautiful hair with her face buried in a book he did a small grin, but his stomach twisted. How would she feel? And he hoped she was not to mad for his long absence. He really tried to come be in the same wing of the manor, but being short staffed on security he really had no choice.
He slowly strode up to her, and hoped not to scare her. Well he was appearing out of no where...almost. He argued with himself in his head on how to approach her and felt almost awkward. He finally ready to kick himself sat in a chair beside her and looked at her admiring how much he missed her. He was a train wreck, boy he never thought. Well scratch that, he knows he falls hard for girls and that's why he didn't like the flings he had to put up with. He broke himself from his thoughts, "Hello there." He would be sure to explain why he wasn't there and that he was sorry. He was very fidgety and almost shuffling his feet. Instead is leg bumped up and down without his foot leaving the floor. Some people found this highly annoying but he found it comforting. Which he guessed was kind of weird to think about.

Abigail was truly enthralled by the book, it had been so long since she'd been able to enjoy some quiet time and lose herself in another world. It had once been such a passion of hers she couldn't help but wonder what happened....oh that's right, now she remembered the event that practically changed her for good. She'd long since kicked off her shoes, and curled her sock covered feet underneath her.
"Hello there."
The new voice startled her and caused her to jump and almost lose grip on her book. Catching it firmly between her two hands, she let out a small breath and looked up. Apparently she'd been completely lost in her book as she hadn't even noticed another person sit down beside, let alone that it was Collin. He looked different too, almost agitated and sleep deprieved.
Pulling her book back towards her, she crossed her arms over, tucking it against her chest as she focused more fully on Collin, her eyes straying to his leg as it bounced up and down, oh yes he was definatley stressing about something. Still she felt that familiar smile creeping onto her face, though it was really only half of what it usually was. Hello she replied, tucking her hair behind her ear.
It certainly was getting colder, she could even feel the chill through her sweater and she briefly wondered whether they actually bothered turning on the heat in this place, or whether they liked torturing their patients by making it so damn cold. Looking back at Collin she sighed quietly, "How've you been?" she asked him quietly, tugging the sleeves down on her sweater, over her hands.

He fidgeted with his hands squeezing them but settled for locking his fingers together to keep them quiet. As he startled her his heart lurched he didn't mean to spook her but he did kinda come down quick and say hello out of no where so he would probably jump to. He looked her over she looked nice and cozy where she sat. And seeing the small hint of a smile made his eyes glow with warmth. Maybe she wasn't as mad as he thought she might be and with his leg bouncing still he looked at her. He definitely had some conflicting problems, but it was mostly with himself. He knew he was falling for her, and oh how he missed seeing her. Even though he only knew her for a couple days and he didn't want to go too fast. But he definitely wanted to be there for her and to help her. And he loved to see her lovely smile, and he watched as her hands crossed her chest.
He watched her tuck a piece of hair behind her ear and while she sighed and spoke. He nodded, "Well I am doing better now that I see you." He spoke quietly but earnestly. And smiled softly at her. It was true he was feeling better now at seeing her and hearing her voice. She didn't seem mad maybe annoyed but definitely probably was stressed over the past two weeks. He didn't mean to put her through anything like that, and definitely would try to stay on this end of the manor. And with security still pretty empty handed, he hoped not. He liked being here and being able to interact with her. "How are you?" His leg stopped bouncing and bit his lip softly hoping there wasn't too much that was bugging her. But he would definitely like to make it better or help with what she needed. Anxiety, how he hated it, ever since his sister's death he really worried about how his actions affected others. He would never want to cause anyone any pain. It just was not how he was raised.

Abigails eyes flickered to Collin's leg as it continued to bounce. Reaching out she put her hand on his knee to stop it and smiled, "Something bothering you?" she asked, removing her hand and sitting back comfortably in her chair as her fingers idly pulled at loose threads on the sleeves of her red sweater.
"Well I am doing better now that I see you."
Even though he smiled Abigail frowned slightly, he'd still not told her why he hadn't bothered coming to see her, even a lousy phone call would have sufficed. Instead of answering she forced a small smile on her face as she gave a curt nod, tucking her hair behind her ear once more. The sleeve on her sweater, falling down slightly, not enough to see the scar on her wrist but enough to see the top of the angry red scar. Noticing this, Abigail dropped her book onto her lap and tugged the sleeves both down so they covered her hands too.
"I'm okay thankyou....little fed up of being here though. My parents don't...they don't want me home when I get out." she chuckled, smiling at him wryly, and shrugging her shoulders, "Other than that I'm great!" she said sarcastically, snapping at him just that little bit. Realising what she'd done Abigail sighed, she'd had her medication today, it was just taking it's time to kick in.
"Sorry." she whispered to Collin, looking down at the book still resting on her lap, her fingers tracing the lettering on the front cover.

Collin's leg stops bouncing as soon as her hand touches his leg. He looks at her softly and notices a slight frown. He also notices her playing with her sleeves and remembers the bandages that were on them last time. But he wondered if they were still there or gone. Two weeks felt like forever and realized he had not explained himself yet. What she said about her parents hit him but he couldn't understand why. He watched her slowly and placed his hand on hers and smiled softly. "Don't worry it will be okay." And he heard the sarcasm and the apology. He nodded, "It's okay hun. And the reason I wasn't here the past two weeks was because the manor was short staffed of security guards. So I had to focus on another wing of the manor."
He looks at her wishing he could of been closer to her. But for now he would try to keep in touch better he liked the smile he brought to his face. And he would love to see her smile a lot more often. He heard books drop a little ways off and a common occurring action. "I am sorry that I wasn't able to be here and trust me I wanted to be here." It was really messing with his head but he felt a lot more relaxed. And he felt really comfortable now that he was here. He looked at her and took his hand away just in case. The manor rules, no need to get into trouble. He leaned back in the chair, he liked winter and when it got colder. He liked to feel the cold against his skin.

Abigail shook her head and smiled lightly, "I wasn't angry with you not being around...missed your company a little but..." she shrugged her shoulders and just smiled slightly, when he tried to reassure her it was going to be okay, Abigail shook her head once more and laughed softly, "I don't see how...even if I get better I'm still stuck here, they won't release you if you have nowhere to go and right now I don't." she said bitterly her distaste for her parents at it's peak.
The commotion somewhere else in the library caught her attention momentarily and she wondered who it was causing it. Obviously her curiousity wasn't that strong as she turned away and refocused back on Collin who was once again apologising for not being around. "It couldn't be helped...no point beating yourself up about it...I'm still here after all." she joked her finger idly twirling strands of hair around her finger.
Looking aroun she sighed and let her head drop back onto the chair, she was really growing to hate this place. The white walls, the doctors, the constant reminder of how much her life had been messed up, "And it wasn't even my fault..." she whispered, letting her eyes drift closed, unaware she’d actually spoken aloud. Her secret still remained buried inside her, she hadn’t even told her Doctors, though on many occasions over the past two weeks she’d came close, but they wouldn’t believe her, no one would. Most people would claim she must have asked for it to happen.
