I Don't Know If I'm Getting Better
Or Just Used To The Pain.
Or Just Used To The Pain.
Despite it being summer, clouds filled the sky over Lucid Manor as small droplets of rain began to fall onto the ground. Normally the days were hot and humid so to Arianna this was the perfect weather to finally go outside and admire the grounds. Arianna sat quietly outside, looking up at the sky as each drop fell onto her pale skin. It felt so good for her to be outside; her hatred of the heat and sun had made it near impossible for her to leave the building, or even her room for that matter. Only on a number of occasions in the few days had she left her room, she worried about what the other patients would think. Out of the corner of her eye she could see one of two security officers she had had keep an eye on her whilst she had been here. She mainly ignored anything they did and just kept to herself, they would only watch to make sure she didn't do anything that was deemed 'dangerous'.
Arianna started thinking of those so called 'dangerous things' she had done and let out a small giggle before laying down on the damp grass. Those dangerous things were the reason she was deemed medically unfit for prison, and the reason that Arianna had arrived here. Ignoring her thoughts her eyes wandered up into the sky. She loved the beauty of grey clouds and darkness that was brought from the rain; she loved to follow the outlines of the clouds with her fingers. It was like she was drawing; only the picture was already there in front of her. She knew she was somewhat lucky to be in the Manor. Although Arianna had this aggression inside of her, she knew she wasn't exactly the strongest of women. If she has gone to prison she may not have coped.
It was only a matter of minutes before her mind trailed once more, back into her memories. Soon her brother Edward entered her mind and she smiled as she felt his hand touch hers. Off course it was all in her mind, but she never could grasp the fact he was gone and never going to come back. "Look Eddie, the clouds have that little tint of silver you like" she whispered. A smirk appeared on her lips which soon left as she felt the hand move from hers and disappear just as quickly as it had come. Biting on her lip she held back the tears and ripped out a couple of blades of grass to prevent her anger. The security officer moved a little but soon stopped and just continued to stare at her. Arianna hated being watched like this, it was almost like she was a show to them. A puppet for their amusement.
Sighing a deep breath Arianna closed her eyes and played with her dull grey scrub. It was a hideous piece of clothing which had faded so much from overuse. Due to her small stature none of the scrubs were able to fit her properly which meant instead of something a little more tight-fitting she looked more like an over bloated seal. Nothing she was wearing could easily harm her, the staff at the Manor would never allow her to have clothes which could be used as a tool.
Arianna was of course a high-risk patient. Someone who at any moment could cause problems for the Manor. And she knew in her heart that that was definitely true. She had caused so much hurt for her brothers, and she knew that. But at the end of the day, what Arianna had done she believed to be the right thing. The only thing in that situation that could be done. Arianna gave a sly smirk at the thought of her father on Christmas day after the incident and stretched putting her hands behind her head and enjoying the breeze as the rain continued to pour.
