22-years old, yet seemingly mature and wise beyond his age, Marcus has been through the rigors in life, surviving childhood depression, the high standards of asian schools as well as the weaknesses of his own heart. Through it all however, he seems to have either matured past it, or simply have become jaded, or a good mixture of both, being laid-back, yet knowing when to be serious or not crack a joke. Because of this, many women find him to be a great friend, but also because of this, not many might see him as a lover.

Even though seemingly hard to approach due to his demeanor, once people actually do, or get to know him, Marcus is an easy-going guy who prefers listening to talking, as well as someone who's trustworthy and reliable. He prefers helping friends away from prying eyes, be it taking care of something without their knowledge, or simply doing things for them that indirectly or directly benefit his friends without them knowing. He can be self-sacrificing and will fight for his friends, but he does know when he's being played along on a string, and will bite back, one way or another.

Marcus is a sensitive person when it comes to Love, considering his first encounter with one turned into his first encounter with anger and depression instead. However, he has kept his heart open, having fallen in love with a few women, and fallen out of them, learning more about the complexities of life and women in general. Most might see him more like a brother than a lover, but Marcus can be immensely sweet and wouldn't mind sacrificing almost anything for someone he loves.

Anyone who undermines respect, or is simply a jackass, Marcus will almost always rise to the occasion to defend a victim if possible. Christian missionaries fall under this catergory, as they are unable to respect the beliefs of others, too deep into their own beliefs to care about everyone else's. Being raised in Singapore however, he has exposure to almost every religion and race, and bears no grudge or distinction between them.

Aspen & Marcus
I'm not sure whether or not he'd shy away from having any sort of [platonic] relationship with her because she's a patient but I think she'd see that he's a good person [though she's a terrible judge of character, so even if he was a deranged murderer she'd still try to make friends with him I bet] and would pester work at trying to get him to open up, or at least listen to what she's got to say even if he didn't have anything to add to the conversation himself.

She's a friendly and blissfully unaware girl who has a firm belief that she doesn't belong at Lucid Manor. Aspen has frequent black-outs and oftentimes wakes up with brand new injuries [bite marks, bruises, scratches/etc] that she can only explain through lies because, honestly, she has no idea where they come from [though, in reality, she has another personality that is the one causing all the damage to their shared body].

But, if Marcus is willing to let her in, or at least be a listening ear to the things that she has to say--I could see her following him around and whether he would consider her one or not she would definitely think of him as a friend and someone who could potentially be her way out of Lucid Manor. Though Aspen would never use a person for her own personal gain so even if she knew that he was unwilling to help her out of the institution she'd still be grateful that she had him to talk to on occasion.

So....any suggestions? Add/Subtract? :3

Marcus and Justice

I can see these two sitting around and criticizing people who barf rainbows together. Obviously, Justice is a patient, so... that relationship might be a little weird. Justice would probably use Marcus to get himself out, once he got a plan in mind. Yet he thinks interns are just mini-doctors, so he might not like Marcus that much at first. But it would be entertaining to see how that worked out. Asians unite? XD

And here we've got one of those people that Marcus seems to hate. Beware of optimist, he doesn't bite! He'd probably try to be as nice as possible to Marcus, and that... might get awkward. Frenemies, maybe?

Marcus & Charlotte

I have Miss Charlotte who is an optimist by nature and can at times barf rainbows but she is slowly starting to lose hope that her parents are coming to pick her up after scaring her for a few days. Charlotte's an exceptionally extroverted girl, she was once a ballerina, and has been pressured to be like her amazing and perfect big brother for most of her life so she might think they might be alike. She personally seeks out powerful and more dominant people since she has dependent personality disorder and since he's so easygoing she might not have to follow him around. Though she might find that interesting since he's someone who won't really tell her what to do or how to be. Charlotte's an odd little duck and while I'm sure she would like him he might not like her. She is an acquired taste and Justice might talk about her.

EPIC BROMANCE!! 'Cause I just know Marcus won't be able to resist Jeremiah the moment he hears him preach. Then Jeremiah can show him the way of Christianity and together they can start their very own church at the asylum x3

Other than what you've mentioned, not at all. Marcus is very open-minded, making no distinctions between patient or otherwise, simply because he believes that everyone's a flawed human being, either way. One way or another, everyone has a secret or some sort of emotional or mental scar they wished to hide and he wouldn't leave himself out as an example.

I believe they'd get along pretty well, as long as she chats up with him when its appropriate and not when he's too busy or swamped with work. <3

Marcus and Justice
Pretty much. Marcus probably wouldn't give a damn about how Justice thinks of him, though if they do share the same hatred of overly positive, happy, rainbow-vomiting people, that's already a good start. If someone's making use of him, however, he'll probably play along, but not succumb to the end result, just to mess around.

Marcus and Coffin
Marcus is pretty open to people, and he agrees that optimism once in awhile is fine. But being BLINDED by it pisses him off. He usually hates the action rather than the person, though. So as much as they'll get along, if he starts spewing rainbows, he'll probably get annoyed.

Marcus & Charlotte[/b]

Marcus is generally an acquired taste as well, considering most don't really find him interesting until they either make an effort to find out or an opportunity to prove himself comes up. As mentioned, he doesn't really hate people if they vomit rainbows, moreso just the action itself. Unless the person is characterized for doing solely that, and is incorrigible... And if Justice and Marcus get along, I guess he'll hear about Charlotte from him then.

Still, he doesn't really hate people for this. He hates the action itself, unless the person becomes personified as "the guy who converts everyone all the time", then maybe Marcus might have an issue...
