Jocelyn sighed, she hated sedating patients, she believed that was not entirely humane and was an obstacle in allowing them to recover on their own. Took away their possible sence of self control and self restraint. If those qualities are not developped, then they can not begin their process of healing and regaining enough control to grab their life by the reighns. Yet, even she realized that the situation was out of control, any methods that could restore the order were necessary means of action. One of those, sacrifice one for the good of the majority, types of things. That to say, did not mean anything.
Her hands rose up, as she rubbed her scalp, her already messy hair growing even more messier. It was an absurd situation really, and even a more absurd reason for it to beggin with. Quite stupid if anyone asked her. Thankfully, no one did. Quite a wise desission on their part, as Jocelyn would then tell exactly what she thought, how she thought it, and to what extent. She got enough vocabulary for that. But she stayed silent, finishing up the rest of her shift, as if nothing was wrong. It was easy at times, pretending that nothing was wrong. Or rather, that everything was right. To a degree it was. It was normal. It was normal for the Manor... even if it wasn't right by all rational accounts. But, who listened to reason these days? IT was no more then a faint memory in the minds of few. She shook her head. No need to think like that. She finished up her shift, and left. A bit of air would do some good.
Her feet carried her, lost deep in thought, to the park. A quiet sanctuary away from the Manor. Perhaps not far away enough, or perhaps... because it was peacefull there. Just the trails... the tall green trees... not green right now.... changing colors. The brilliant reds, teh bright oranges, the glowing yellows.... the fascinating colors, splashed upon teh leafs. The hills almost as if on fire.... the mystical charm of the autumn. The grayish skies, stretching, stretching to the eternity. The heavy rains, falling to the sleepy ground. The mist, enveloping the world like a blanket. The world slows down. Nature preparing for sleep.
With a heavy sigh, Jocelyn collapsed onto one of the park benches. Almost imidiately she felt the fine layer of bit of dew. The sun was still warm, and she could still feel the warmth of it's rays upon her skin. Warmth... the pleasant warmth.. something that, that cold building lacked. Warmth and comfort. And something that the patients no doubt needed, and something they no doubt would not get. Shame... for she wanted to help them. Alas, not everything could be perfect...and the patients who could be helped, will not be.
Jocelyn closed her eyes, folding her arms upon her chest. She needed rest. She needed a vacation. Sadly, it's something that neither her, nor anyone in that place would get any time soon. Bitter sweet it was. Working in a hospital. You get to help people, make them better, employ your skills.... and on the other hand, you are stuck. Hopelessly and utterly stuck. She did not mind too much though. OF course, some days were better then others, but at the end of the day, reguardless of how it whent, she hoped that she had helped someone. Made some difference for the better. Restored some order to another’s chaotic life.
But those thoughts aside. She was out of the Manor right now, and tomorrow was her day off. She just had to take a deep breath, and think pleasant thoughts. Just enjoy the lovely autumn day.
