CJ ducked away from the guard after the second turn, eyeing the guard who was walking ahead of him in the new hallway. It was the one he wanted – he knew the guards’ rounds like there was no tomorrow. Hey, he studied and when he studied he really put his mind to remembering things. He had to know, for when he snuck out of his room at night and went to find his playmates during the day and had to avoid being caught. He was kinda like a CJ-ninja. It made him almost giggle, but then he remembered his task and sped up. Stepping quietly, he slipped next to the guard and pulled the pack of cigarettes out of the oblivious guy’s back pocket, before slipping them into his own, making sure to stick his hands deep into his pockets and turned and walked away. Peeking around the corner to make sure guard number one was gone, he slipped back out to where the padded rooms were, and stepped carefully into the hallway he hoped Azrael was lurking. Almost nervously, as if he was afraid the man was going to… No, CJ. If you finish those thoughts he surely—He didn’t get to complete his thoughts of what he figured Azrael would do, and felt the breath of the man against his neck, the quiet, “Boo,” in his ear… the way his body reacted sent the older man into a fit of hysterics. CJ frowned at him a little, almost to tears, but he held himself back, holding himself back from kicking Azrael. Mentally, he made himself a note to not give the man the cigarettes he snatched but that was a lie when Azrael took control of his mind. He sighed, not seeing any winning situation and simply pulled on one of Azrael’s arms and lead him through the hallways, peeking around corners and to the back entrance of the high profile rooms. CJ knew the main way was always blocked by lots of guards, usually ones who wouldn’t let him in, and only one or two were at the back. Usually there was one, asleep because no one went that way. He put his fingers up to his lips, looking at Azrael and giving the universal “be quiet” sign and when he was done, gently and quietly pulled Azrael passed the sleeping guard. Once past, CJ grinned widely to himself and found Azzy’s room, pushed the door open and slipped in, pulling Azrael along inside. He shut the door quietly, making sure it wouldn’t resound down the hall. Once done, he turned his attention to the older male, the biggest, excited grin on his face, “CJ did it!” he announced the obvious, grinning widely at Azrael. He had completely forgot about the cigarettes in his pocket, but that was only for the moment. He was too busy happily rejoicing his victory. Hey, cut the kid some slack – sneaking a high profile from the padded cells to his room, stealing a pack of cigarettes and not getting caught was all a victory for the nineteen year old… especially when he always doubted himself half the time. But this was something that changed when people put it in his mind… he beamed at Azrael, stepping towards the older man, eyes glowing happily, “CJ gets rewarded now, right sir?” he questioned, tilting his head a bit and swaying slightly, excitement creeping into his movements.
