The dream again last night waking her, and it was an awful night of sleeping. Tossing and turning. She was tired but she woke herself up enough to go to work. And she carried out her day like any other, with pride. She really didn't want to go home, because that meant sleep. And sleep meant tormenting dreams that wouldn't leave her alone. They were sometimes different, but always with the same theme. She hated it, and she immersed herself in her work.
She wore her usual scrubs that were a rich sky blue and they were some of her favorites. Her rich black hair was tied back into a pony tail and no make up. Hell when she was over disarming bombs when would she find the time to put make up on. She tried to focus her mind on work, and she surely didn't want to start thinking about those damn bombs again. She was doing the start of the day, handing out medications to each patient and flipping through charts to mark it down. She got the hang of it pretty easily only being here for awhile. But there was the occasional patient who refused to take medication. And today was no different, she was picked to handle a patient who just threw a alarm clock. She nodded as she spoke to the previous nurse. "Just don't call her Tara." The nurse gave the small advice then left to tend to other patients who were actually wanting to take there medications. Carmen sat there for a moment grabbing the girl's file and scanning through it, and once prepared she closed it.
As she walked towards the exam room that the girl was being held in she handled the chart at her side with a pen. And a cup with her medication in it. She wasn't scared and wouldn't be intimidated. As she turned the handle to the room, she put a small smirk on her face. "So, Elizabeth? Why are we not taking our medication this fine morning?" She said it with confidence and clarity. She saw the girl was chained to the table, and walked across the room to set the stuff in her hands down on another little writing table. She looked at the girl with a stare, not necessarily expecting an answer but it sure would be nice. Although half the people who don't take their medications don't really need a excuse. She opened a cabinet and grabbed a pair of gloves and putting them on. She grabs the cup and lets the girl see her intentions.
"So? We going to do this the hard way or the easy way?" She rattles the cup letting the pills echo and stops. With a small smile she stops within two feet of the girl expecting this to go the hard way but who knew maybe she would take the easy route. Although those who refuse the first time tend to not want to take them at all. Carmen didn't back down from tasks at hand and she never went down without a fight. Her hand rested on her hip and tilted her head slightly waiting.
