[ THIS FEELING NEVER LEAVES YOU ALONE , PULL THE TRIGGER ON YOUR OWN ]you're hiding in your safe place - - hiding with your eyes shut tightly( on the way to the hospital ) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Jace slipped heavy woolen gloves over his slender fingers as he opened the door to go into the yard. It wasn't actually that cold outside but it was a good excuse for the young boy to cover himself with more clothing and not get strange looks from his peers. He absentmindedly tightened his grey scarf around his neck before pushing the hood up over his head. Jace scuffled over to the unoccupied section of the concrete wall before propping himself hesitantly against it. Jace wished it was a wire fence so he could see out to the off limits world beyond, and not just have to look at the dull off-white wall. He turned his head, glancing left and right to make sure he was a good distance from anyone else who decided to do the same. He finally decided that it was okay and that there really wasnt anywhere else to go anyways, so he slouched over studying his shoes. The yard was more crowded than Jace would have liked but he didnt know where else to go. It was an open space at least. His tired hazel eyes flickered up, surveying the other patients. Many of them were running or working out, others were playing ballgames but most were loitering around talking to each other. A couple of them returned glances and he immediately looked down breaking eye contact. His arms twisted around himself, holding him close while he thought anxiously.
Jace thought about a lot of things, most revolving around the fact that everyone here was either much taller than him and a lot heavier. He was such an easy target, and now he was regretting standing in this open spaced yard. Even with his attempt at being inconspicuous he seemed to be the only one not running or playing and he was certainly the only one alone. Jace missed his inpatient care at the hospital, when he was at least able to see his mom and visit home. This new change in scenery was frightening and it would take a while to get used to Lucid Manor, even if it was a classy place. It was different and Jace didn't like it one bit. He glanced around once more before slumping to the ground, curling his knees up to his chest, his thin arms tightly embracing them.

"someone else's say here!"

Justice smiled to himself, his eyes closed as he sat on his bed. The words of a highly ironic song floated through his head, and he mouthed it to himself, not bothering to speak out loud. Lump sat alone in a boggy marsh, totally motionless except for her heart… He slowly opened his eyes as the door opened, the gruff voice of his new personal guard telling him that he needed to come out. Saying that he’d shut himself in here for twenty-four hours and he needed to go see his doctor, or at least get some fresh air. ”You care so much about me, don’t you?” he said in a high and falsely sweet voice, standing up. ”I had a visitor yesterday, didn’t I? Shouldn’t that count for something?” His eyes narrowed, his voice just slightly lower now and biting, though still girly. His nameless guard muttered something about fellow high profiles not counting, and Justice nodded absently. Right, Jeremiah didn’t count as a visitor because he was even more insane than Justice was. Just sighed, running his fingers through the shockingly blonde hair that reached his chin. ”Right, escort me outside then… whatever your name is,” he said, shrugging and looking wistfully out the window. Not at the yard surrounded by concrete walls and barbed wire that he was going to be led to, but at the rolling hills behind the manor. What he would do to get out, to run in the forest and… to burn the trees down.
Justice’s breath caught at the sudden urge, and he shook his head violently, walking quickly out the door, his guard close at his heels. He thought the guard had muttered his name, but Justice hadn’t been paying any attention. His guard was nameless for now. Maybe one day, when he cared more, he would learn it and commit it to memory. If he ever cared more, that was. It was quite unlikely, actually. The simple disinterest to learn the name of his stalker added to the fact that he was slowly becoming mindless… he didn’t think that he’d ever care. If he had been in a better mood, if he had possessed a mood at all, maybe he would have made pleasant conversation with the man that was charged with the job of following him everywhere he went. Right now, though, he just wanted to be alone. He was sure that it broke the man’s heart that Justice just wanted to be in his room, moping, for lack of a better word. Maybe playing dead was more accurate. He shielded his eyes from the bright sunlight as he exited the double doors leading to the yard. He had been shut in his room for so long that the bright light burned his eyes.
He felt the guard jab him in the back, and he winced, taking a few steps forward. Right, he had been blocking the door, but his guard was just being full of himself. Sure, Justice was a high profile now, but almost everyone knew that he wasn’t really that dangerous without any lighters. He couldn’t punch anyone, couldn’t bring his legs to swing and kick when someone posed a threat. There had been that one time, in the showers… but that hadn’t been voluntary. It was almost as if his knee had moved by itself, and yet he had still been beaten up. Still had been forced to take out the lighter that had caused him to be bumped up to high profile. Yeah… like it had done much use. His guard muttered something about being active, so Justice assumed that he was supposed to run and play games now. Just to annoy his guard, he started taking a slow walk around the edge of the yard, sticking close to the concrete walls like a cat that had just moved into a new house. No, he wasn’t new to Lucid Manor. He had been here for a few months now, but the change in profile made him see everything through new eyes. Low profiles saw the guard and quickly changed locations, and it made him feel like a monster. So he was completely zoned out when his foot touched something warm and shaped oddly like a human. He blinked and looked down, but was quickly dragged away by his guard who had somehow grabbed the back of his scrubs, growling at Justice.
He blinked back to reality, watching the younger boy that he had pretty much kicked. It had been an accident, sure… but he was viewed as a monster, right? He felt a hint of panic rise in his chest as he thought of someone else hating his guts, fearing him… shying away. He stepped away from his guard, crouching down next to the boy. ”Hey, are you okay?” he asked, spinning around for a second when he noticed his guard moving to grab him again. ”I’m not going to hurt him,” he snapped quickly. The guard didn’t look like he believed him, but at least he didn’t grab his scrubs again, just stood about a foot away and watched Justice with apathetic eyes. Right… okay then. He was still getting used to this whole guard thing, but so far he didn’t like it. He slowly turned back towards the kid. ”… Sorry. About tripping over you,” he said, making an effort not to sound like he was being strangled. An effort to sound like something other than a high profile, a monster. Something other than insane.
notes okay, that was longer than I thought it would be… lyrics from Lump by Presidents of the United States of America because it’s an awesome song.

[ THIS FEELING NEVER LEAVES YOU ALONE , PULL THE TRIGGER ON YOUR OWN ]you're hiding in your safe place - - hiding with your eyes shut tightly( on the way to the hospital ) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Out of fucking nowhere he felt a foot collide with his shoulder and various other parts of himself. This was the second time this week he had been snuck up on and it was absolutely terrifying. Before the collision, Jace had been scribbling in the dirt focusing all his attention on it and was totally unaware of a large figure coming towards him. He probably was so zoned out because of the amount of sleep he was getting or lack there of. His nightmares were coming back again, full force and he didn't dare close his eyes for more than a blink when unnecessary.
The first strike wasn't hard at all, really just an overly enthusiastic bump but Jace flinched anyways. His hands instantly gravitated to his own sweatshirt, clenching it with both fists in panic as he flattened himself against the wall behind him, curling up even tighter. He didn't even look up just scrunched his eyes tight waiting for another blow. Jace's heart was pumping out blood as fast as it could, but barely enough to stop him from having a heart attack. Memories flooded back as he waited panic-stricken for another attack, maybe something painful but it never came. Eventually he ventured a timid look upwards.
His brain felt overloaded as it tried to figure out what was going on. With a couple rapid blinks a blond haired boy swam into focus. The boy, or rather man (maybe he was a little girly looking but Jace was pretty sure he was indeed a man) was crouching down next to him, looking concerned. Jace's hazel gazed glanced at him quickly before averting eye contact, his sit slipping back to the ground. The lips were moving but Jace couldn't hear anything and it took a moment to process all the noises. ”Hey, are you okay? I’m not going to hurt him, Jace nodded feeling a little dazed, glancing behind the unknown figure who as talking, to see and even taller man. He was dressed in black uniform and was obviously, well, a security guard. ”… Sorry. About tripping over you,” The voice was a little off, but Jace couldn't put a finger on why. He just brushed it off, trying to speak casually. N-no, I should have been paying attention! the younger boy said hurriedly, totally losing his air of casualness, while trying to wipe the dirt and dust off of his coat and jeans.
Jace hadn't been here long but he could tell there was something different about this patient. He was dressed in scrubs for starters and the security guard seemed to keep a very close watch on him. In fact the security guard didn't look like he had any intent on leaving, even when Jace said I'm fine really while glancing in his direction. Suddenly it clicked that the blond boy was a high profile. That didn't really make Jace more nervous though, like it probably should have. The fact that there was a guard at all times for the patient made them seem almost safer than a medium profile. The reasoning behind this was that a medium profile could do something that would turn them into a high profile (Like attack someone) except they didn't have a guard to stop them. High profile patients could be more crazy, yes, but in Jace's head they were safer because they couldn't get away with anything ever. He didn't liked the guards watching eye's though they made him feel a little uncomfortable, and would hate to be trailed by one of these people all day long. Do they watch you while you sleep?

Justice narrowed his eyes, annoyed. The kid should have been paying attention? What the fuck? He was just sitting there, he hadn't done anything wrong, so why the hell was he blaming himself? Justice despised people that blamed themselves for every little single thing, but instead of flying off the handle he just stayed silent for a moment, then spoke. ”No, you didn't do anything. I should have been looking where I was going.” He refused to tack on an apology at the end because hadn't the kid already gotten one from him? He wasn't too proud to say that he was sorry when someone deserved an apology, but he never said it more than once for the same incident. Why should he? If the person he had hurt was listening, they would hear the apology and either accept or decline. If they weren't listening, then they didn't deserve another one. People who didn't listen to him were just a waste of time, and they should apologize to him instead of waiting for him to say something. If people ignored him, he ignored them right back. If people were overly annoying and enthusiastic like a certain somebody... well, he still ignored them. Or blew up on them, but that was happening less and less with his guard here constantly.
He watched the boy with bored eyes until the rest of his face got bored too. He sighed, sitting down next to him. Crouching had become uncomfortable. ”Do you mind if I stay here, kid? I'm kind of stuck out here until the guard dude thinks I've gotten enough vitamin D....” he asked, then explained his reason slowly, like he was talking to a toddler. This guy didn't look particularly dangerous, so he was probably a low profile or something. Anyway, he had said that he was fine. So he probably didn't mind if Justice sat here with him, right? He raised an eyebrow at the annoyed look on his guard's face, knowing that the whole point of coming out here was to get Justice to exercise. But no, Justice ran around when the yard was empty, and people weren't there to look at him. As he normally got hot and took off his shirt, that was a good thing. Though, now that he had a guard constantly watching him, maybe he should keep his shirt on... It would be amusing to see the look on his face, though. Justice pondered on that for a minute before returning to the present.
”What's your name, anyway?” he asked, trying to start up a normal conversation even though they had an audience of one looking irritably at the blonde.
